On
September 28, 2001, Wright State University will host a symposium entitled
"FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE WRIGHT
BROTHERS: THEIR SITES AND STORIES." Wright
State University is the home of one of the largest collections of Wright
brothers papers and memorabilia in the world, and is gearing up to play a central
role in the upcoming Centennial of Flight.
This symposium will bring together scholars, students of all ages,
enthusiasts, historians and educators to discuss their research and share
their insights into the lives and careers of Wilbur and Orville Wright and
the invention of powered flight through their sites and stories. The
papers to be presented will focus on sites critical to the
accomplishments of Wilbur and Orville Wright. Examples include: Huffman
Prairie Flying Field, Dayton, Ohio; Pau, France; Fort Myer, Virginia; and
College Park, Maryland.
We will announce the papers to be presented and planned activities
when Wright State makes the list available.
