Hey guys! On Dece, ber, we will be meeting at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery just off of Ridge Road at 12:00 noon. You can either go to the main desk and ask for an escort, or you can go in the back entrance off Ridge road. Either way, you have to sign our "Volunteer Sign-In Sheet" when you arrive, and we will give you a badge. We'll be in the Tait Auditorium, where we are building the Flyer. We're going begin talking about the Wright engine and propellers that they began making in 1903. Then those of you who are interested in helping with either the Centennial Flyer or the third-scale RC Flyer we are building can stay and work until 4:00 pm. About UsThe Bishop's Kids is a special organization of young people who will help the Wright Brothers Aeroplane Company to tell the story of the Wright brothers to the thousands of visitors who will come to Dayton, Ohio for the Centennial of Flight in 2003. We take our name from one of Wilbur and Orville's old nicknames. Around their neighborhood, they were known as the Bishop's kids. If you live in the Dayton area and are between the ages of 7 and 17, we invite you to join. To be one of the Bishops Kids, you must:
If thats you, we need you to set up and demonstrate the Wright airplanes we are building, and answer questions about the Wright brothers and Dayton history. You have to learn lots of new stuff and work like a dog in the hot sun. Theres no pay except for free admission to air shows, some fast food, and a chance to play an important role in one of the most exciting events in aviation. Sound like fun? If you would like to know more, the Bishops Kids meet every Saturday locations that are announced right here on the web. Come to a meeting and see what we're about.
